I would say he was Gad at the moment fo conception. If John was filled with the Holy Ghost in his mother's womb, then I think we can conclude that he was a human being at this point. If Jesus was a human in the womb and at the same time not God, then how did Jesus become God? Jesus is God and has always been God. Also, in the Old Testament, if a mother had a miscarriage because someone hit her in the stomach, the man would be killed. If the baby was born without an eye, then the man's eye would be removed.
