Does anybody have, or know where I can find, reasonably freely usable
ready-to-use code that would parse a UUCP-like specification string
with allowable days and times, compare it with the current system time,
and return true or false?

For example, if the string is

     Mon:1500-1900,Tue:0000-2400,Wed-Thu:0000-2400

and the system time right now is 1530 on a Monday, the routine would
return true.
