Lines: 19 My home system has a standard WD controller and a Seagate ST4096 as the first drive and an old Seagate 10 megger as the second. When I jump from the first drive to the second (or vice-versa) there is often a long delay. Sometimes the system responds with an error message. If I reply with a "retry" request all seems to work well. The system has been like this for some time and I've had the same problem with another controller. On a similar note, when I try to reboot the ST4096 never seems to be able to reset. The activity light goes on for a quick flash, then goes out and the system hangs. Eventually it times out. Part of the problem might be the jumpers on the 10 MB drive, but I don't have the docs for it. Anybody out there have any ideas? -- -- Charles "Chip" Yamasaki chip@oshcomm.osha.gov
