I use it on the rare occasion that I wish to video-tape the output of ye olde Beeb.. It gives a better picture than the UHF out, and no white-noise on the sound.. And of course if you decide you want to record in monochrome, you can. However, I DON'T think that this is the problem. I believe it may be the incompatibility with NTSC that's causing this.
