Anyone who is considering the purchase of either the Yoke or the rudder pedals is advised to spend their money either on a good joystick or, better still, flight instruction. I make this statement for 2 reasons. The first is that the "tactile input" one receives from the yoke is completely unrealistic. I have never flown an aircraft that requires full control input to generate a slow roll. Furthermore the pitch input is ridiculously small. True, the yoke does offer 12 inches of movement fore and aft, but this is a fraction of a yoke's actual movement in most aircraft. The second reason I make the statement is because, quite frankly, the company lied. They claimed an "Analog input ability" that is in no-way utilized by any program. Indeed, even WITH programs that offer it, it will not be read. (I refer specifically to F-19, which offers an "ANALOG JOYSTICK" option. I was initially thrilled, but every attempt to use it resulted in the plane spinning out of control.) I have no desire to help support a business that cannot be honest to its customers. There is something else all prospective buyers should know. The so-called "ANALOG INPUT", even IF supported, will most likely adversely affect simulation speed in any but the fastest machines. Indeed, the new instrument procedures trainer ELITE (offered, unfortunately, only for IBM) costs $700.00 + because it includes HARDWARE TO MAKE ANALOG INPUT REALISTIC. In that company's words, software-based analog drivers are virtually useless. I hop my post will save someone some time and money. I payed $70.00 for MY yoke over a year ago, and it's been out of its box 3 times since that time. The company will not take the yoke back even for a partial refund, and I haven't the heart to sell it to some poor sap that doesn't know better. Thank you for your time.
