Nico Francois (the author of PowerPacker) did something like this
on Amiga. It is called The Guru and it pops up at random intervals
speaking some weird texts. It is written in ..... Modula 2 (yuck).
He did this for an assignment he had to do when he was still
studying. I would have liked to see the heads of the assistants
when he made the proposal: real speech ????? (how should they
know that's only a library call).
