Is there something unusual about the hard drive?  The usual situation is that 
one simply runs AHDI and any number of ACSI-SCSI drives are recognized.  I've
run 2 hard drives off a BMS-200 that way (along with a cartridge tape).  It
is just imaginable that you're installing 2 conflicting hard disk drivers.  
Have you called BMS with this problem?  They tend to be very helpful.
