We are supporting MacX throughout campus as we install Pathworks clients...the
big question here is how busy is your localtalk segment?? For 'usable'
performance we are recommending ethernet--even low use localtalk requires lots
of patience.

si's and se/30's work fine with ethernet...haven't tested the LC with MacX, but
it appears to have enough juice to cut it. I'd avoid the classic for network
intensive tasks...I wish we had known that earlier...

no, especially if you are going to use system 7 (or System 6, multifinder and
any other apps)...our minimum recommendation is 4meg.
The more open X windows you plan on having, the more memory you will need.

yes, haven't tried them yet...two companies that I recall seeing in the monthly
mac mags--the companies' names escape me at the moment.

We are minimally recommending 640x480 screen resolutions...many many x apps
expect 'workstation-size' resolutions, so even 640x480 may not be enough for
some...The 'compact' or 'classic' family screens don't cut it.
