Thanks to all who mailed me an answer. 

Just to summarize. With the IIsi ( and possibly other 68030 machines) you need
to replace all four banks with the same type of simms. Thus with the IIsi you 
can have 1,2,3,5,9,17 provided you can find the appropraite simms.
