I put it on my machine running System 7. They I set up guest accout to the folder with sharing turned on. I then went to another machine and just connected using chooser appleshare (system 6.0.7) and ran the network installer. It updated the local HD to system 7. You will probably want to get the Disktools disk and take it around after the upgrade and update the driver for apple drives and also run disk first aid (there have always been repairs needed for us).
