Every now and then my watchcursor gets trashed too. It seems to happen if I open and close a number of Finder windows, especially when the window is opened using an alias in the Apple Menu Items folder. After a while the watchcursor gets its normal shape again. The weird part is that the watchcursor doesn't trash all the time. It trashes when a window is opened, then sets back to its normal shape, and may trash once more just before turning back into the arrow cursor.
