A listener in Oxford, Ohio wants to know What is the format of a Macintosh HFS formatted disk? I've got the basics down, the folders idea and all that. I'd like to know more technical info: how are the folders created and where is the info stored for them? Is there something analogous to a FAT? How are hard drive partitions created and managed? Where is that info stored? Be as technical and as comprehensive as you like. Assume that you are explaining all this to a very experienced Mac user, who also has a good knowledge of DOS and the DOS disk/file structure. Thanks. Any response is welcome.
