Mech. & Comp. Equip., Moscow, USSR Lines: 20 Hello! Intro: I use russian version of Xerox Ventura Publisher 2.0 Professional Extension & HP LJ II {+|P} (w/o PostScript) to prepare newsletters, books and leaflets for various soviet publishers. Russion VP 2.0 doesn't contain any kerning pairs in HP LJ+ width tables. To increase polygraphic quality, I tried to add kerning information myself, as described in my VP 2.0 Ref. Guide (App. K). Problem: There is no any kerning for *some* pairs of symbols. It's "right symbol depending" - e.g. symbol <164> (spanish n~ or cyrillic 'd', that *should* be kerned) doesn't shift relatively other symbols. These applicaple both to Russian VP-PE & VP and to original (english) VP 2.0 so I suppose this is not russian release bug. Help needed: Proper kerning could dramatically increase quality of the printout. Any help would be highly appreciated. - George (iga@s514.ipmce.su)
