I am using GNU EMACS 18.55 on an IBM RS/6000 Model 520
which replies this to uname -a: AIX pdx007 1 3 000118433000

EMACS frequently hangs - typically when running mh-rmail or other
commands that invoke subprocesses.  Occasionally, but not always, a
SIGCHILD can get EMACS going again.

Has anyone else seen/solved this problem?

(I know, I know - I'll update when I can. &*&^%$#@!!!! local changes...)
