Hello all,

When I try to use a Windows comms program to talk over COM1 it locks
the machine up.  This happens with Windows Terminal, WinKermit and
WinQVT.

I can use COM1 perfectly well with MS-Kermit or Procomm under DOS or
from a COMMAND.COM started from within Windows.  I can use COM4 OK with
the Windows comms programs.

My machine is a '286 AT clone - I'm running Standard mode with 8MB of
memory.

Help, anyone?
