The APL interpreter makes use of a number of symbols not ordinarilly seen on an ASCII display, and does so by means of a "soft" character set, i.e., one loaded into memory. The APL characters come through fine when the interpreter works in full-screen but not when it's reduced to a window. In this case I see the "normal" ASCII characters (and since many of the APL symbols are in code positions occupied by graphic ASCII characters, those are what I see). I haven't taken the trouble to see whether it's an APL bug or a Windows bug since it doesn't really bother me and I view it as a temporary problem. At any rate, your experience sounds like it's the same bug.
