It has been advertised in Audio Amatuer for some time and I spoke to him this weekend. From what I gather, it seems like a Philips style D/A section (7220 and TDA 1541S1) with a tube (12AT7) I/V and filter stage. Joe admits bias but he says he has cutomers who claim amazing performance - better than the 13K Stax. Joe hasn't heard the Stax though. For those who want to know more, Joe sells the DAP 3 ways. You can buy the PCBs & instructions for $125. He estimates parts to run $600. You can get the boards stuffed for $1000 (this is what I'm interested in) and you can get the unit fully assembled in a 19" rack mount for $2200. I don't have his number on hand but I can get it if you send me email. Thanks for any replies. Cheng Tan cheng@silver.geoworks.com
