If you look at some scripture though you will see that St. Paul advocated no change in lifestyle at all [paraphrasing here] "If you are married, stay married. If you are now single, stay single". He believed that one was more 'pure' in Christ in a non-married state... Of course, at the time, he believed that Christ would return within his own lifetime. :)
