All events are scheduled for the afternoon, except for the final day, which is in the morning. October 11 - Nature of the Mind, Venerable Lopon Tenzin Mandhak, Bon tradition. 10/12 - Dzog Chen, Venerable Trulshik Rinpoche, Nyingma tradition 10/13 - Mahamudra, Ven. Tenga Rinpoche, Kagyu tradition 10/14 - Inseparability of Samsara & Nirvana, Kyabje Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, Sakya tradition 10/15 - Union of Bliss and Emptiness, Ven. Tara Rinpoche, Gelug tradition October 16 - 19: Path of Compassion teachings. Teachings are given prior to tantric initiations such as the Kalachakra to develop the prerequisite qualities of bodhicitta, or the wish to become enlightened for the sake of others, and the understanding of the true nature of reality. On these four afternoons preceding the Kalachakra initiation, the Dalai Lama will give teacing based on Shantideva's Bodhicharyavatara, the Guide of the Bodhisattva's Way of Life. It is considered " the most complete and authoritative text ever written on how to engage in the practices of a bodhisattva, one who is solely motivated by the desire to attain full enlightenment for the benefit of others." This text is studied in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism, and has become well known in other Mahayana traditions. 10/20 - viewing of ritual dancing 10/21 - 23: Kalachakra initiation.
