I saw this group among the oodles and scads on the news.groups listing, and am curious as to the purpose of the group. I am personally interested in minor metalworking (minor because there is no way in God's green earth that I can afford a forge as a college student), and am unfortunately a clean slate---anything anyone could tell me, from working properties of metals to manners of shaping, etc., would be of assistance. As I mentioned, I do not have my own forge, but I do have access to forges o f people I know in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism...a medieval recreationist group). I am working with a cranky editor, and this is the first time, I've posted, so please forgive me if this message is garbled... Thank you in advance...
