I'm looking for a solution to monitor/analyze multiple ethernet and token-ring
networks. 

Specifically I would greatly appreciate:

- references to articles on the subject (comparitive reviews etc.)
- names of other products that meet the requirements


I'm particularly interested in Unix based solutions, but I haven't seen any
so far (but my search is just starting).

I will summarize and re-post the information I receive.
Please forgive me if someone has already done a survey of this kind, in that
case I'd like a copy of the summary
