Message-ID: <1991May23.224750.25948@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 23 May 91 22:47:50 GMT Sender: news@midway.uchicago.edu (NewsMistress) Organization: University of Chicago Lines: 33 1) I am trying to use GPPGD3 function to insert a structure element consisting of vertex and normal coordinates of a set of points on a surface of a sphere. I understand that there is a maximum size limitation of 64K bytes per structure element; I am able to successfully generate the sphere with upto 384 vertices (i.e. upto 9216 bytes). Furthermore, an object is displayed for a set of 96 vertices (i.e. a total length of 2304 bytes). In both cases I am also using the graPHIGS element inquiry function GPQED that returns the element number and data buffer size in bytes of the structure element. Now when I try to increase the resolution of the sphere by using a set of 1536 vertices (structure length of 36864 bytes), I do not get any object displayed although GPQED does return appropriate parameters. Anybody with any comments ? 2) I am considering getting a graPHIGS users group started here in the Midwest; does anybody have any knowledge of similar users group any where else. Is there one here in the Midwest, or on the East/West coast? __________________________________________________________________ Zahid Ahmed Scientifc Visualization Lab, Center for Clouds, Chemistry and Climate University of Chicago.
