I've been in on & off for a while now. I've been working with FORTH for about 10 years now, using the FIG version for the TI computer (Wycove), F83 on my cp/m computer, and now, finally I've graduated to a 386 that I'm running F83s. I use FORTH for everything I can, mostly having to do with running my office (I'm a doctor of Chiropractic) and it's sort of become an intense hobby. Most of my applications involve accounting, databases, and word processing & the interfacing of all of the above. I'm having trouble understanding why people keep talking as if FORTH is totally useless for anything except imbedded systems & such -- my office runs veerrrryyy quickly & efficiently on the programming I've built over the years. Of course, being custom-designed, it does exactly what I want it to! ----- This message came from GEnie via willett. You *cannot* reply to the author using e-mail.
