A long time ago (9 yrs.) I kludge something together so as to
traslate ascii file to a trascii file on VAX/VMS. Then, using the 
copy command I could make a "trascii" tape (no time to do TDX,
esp. when this worked ok) that could be read on a Sentry tester.

I've changed jobs (7 years ago) and now have a need to do exactly 
the same thing, except from a unix box (Sun and/or 386/Esix).  

I think I have a ascii --> trascii program (8 bit to 6 bit) working,
but do ** NOT ** know how to make a tape via dd.  I'm also sorta
confused about "\n" in trascii.

I'd appreciate any and all help, suggestions, hand holding, etc. !!
