  We have a problem which has just recently occurred for some unknown 
reason. sendmail is taking over 10 minutes to verify distribution 
lists which are in the aliases file.  We are running the MX version
of sendmail and the aliases file is a NIS (YP) map. This is on
a lightly loaded sun 4/280.
 eg. telnet shiva 25

vrfy some_list       !!takes a long time

Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this.
BTW the nameserver and the YP services seems ok. I can ypcat the aliases
file and nslookup return quite quickly.
