Colleagues,

In response to "Problems right off the bat" several of you said that
1) the DOS 4.00 vs 4.01 was Microsoft's fault,
2) I could have solved the BUFFERS problem by R-ing the FM, (true enough)
3) OPTIMIZE was refusing to turn Sidekick over to LOADHI because 
   there wasn't a large enough contiguous block of high RAM.  So I
   whittled down SK's memory requirements (by shrinking the notepad)
   until it would fit in the 96K block that was available, and then
   OPTIMIZE agreed to LOADHI it.  But THEN...

Wordperfect 5.1 wouldn't run at all, in fact hung the machine when 
loaded, requiring cold boot.  I yanked Sidekick and WP will run
but it's having trouble writing to the lower part of the screen.

After R-ing the FM, which tends to recommend trial and error, I think 
I have tried every combination of WRITES DIRECTLY TO SCREEN, 
VIRTUALIZE TEXT/GRAPHICS, and several other parameters.  The problems
vary with different settings, but there are always problems.  The
Fucking Wordperfect Manual hasn't helped.

Perhaps a Desqview/Wordperfect user could help?  This is running on
a 386 with Phoenix BIOS, VGA.  Thanks.
