We intend to use them to simulate/evaluate different (distributed) shared memory architectures. I am aware of some application programs that can be used for such evaluations, e.g., the Stanford SPLASH suite and VM_pRAY from IRISA, Rennes, France. (These are available via ftp. If you are interested, I can give you the addresses.) I have further noticed that there is some effort going on to come up with a standardized parallel trace format. There was a birds-of-a- feather session on this topic at Supercomputing'90. (Reports from this meeting are available via ftp as well.) Has this or other effort resulted in parallel traces becoming available on a broader basis? Anyone who can shed some light on parallel traces, please e-mail directly to one of the addresses given below. I'll be glad to summarize to the net, if there is sufficient interest. Thanks in advance. Hermann -- Hermann Hellwagner hermann%christine@ztivax.siemens.com Siemens Corp. Res.
