The reason SOSS exists is because there really aren't many packages available to do such a thing. The only alternative under DOS is Novell; they'll sell you their NetWare server ($6,000) and an NFS upgrade ($5,000) which can do the trick at high performance. If you don't mind running Unix on the 386-33, you can go to Interactive, SCO, or any of a number of companies which have an NFS product. That will be significantly cheaper (the Unix market is far more competitive than the Novell or DOS TCP/IP markets, just because there are so many companies). There may be some companies which will sell you a bare NFS which runs directly on the hardware, without having a Unix operating system under it. SOSS v3.2 does work with Interdrive, by the way; thanks to Geoff Arnold at Sun, I've now seen it running. You have to specify user "nobody" to turn off the pcnfsd authentication which isn't (yet) supported by SOSS. -rich
