Thanks to everyone who responded to my query about NNTP Newsreaders for PCs. We
received a number of suggestions and leads about programs, and about a dozen
and a half requests to share the information I received. Rather than respond to
each of you individually, I'm going to make a summary and post back here. We
are testing several of the programs and are in the process of
obtaining a few others; I will post the results of our findings back here in a
few weeks, and a list of the ftp archives for different programs in a few days
(we wanted to verify that we could in fact download from each source.)

Thanks again to contributors for the information and to info-requesters for
their patience.
