Let me sell you my 1200 baud modem for only $150! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) >a card. Will it work with an Amiga? Assuming that the modem in question has a standard RS-232 interface, the A-500, A-2000, or A-3000 will use it just fine. The A-1000 has the gender of the serial connector reversed. It will work with an appropriate gender changer for the serial port. The internal PC modems will not work in an Amiga except in conjunction with a bridgeboard. There are Amiga specific internal modems available for the A-2000s and A-3000s. Seriously, you should look at getting a 2400 baud modem instead of a 1200. 2400 baud is becoming the standard but is fast being superceeded by 9600 baud. The difference in time spent downloading a 1-meg file is amazing. A 9600 baud modem would be much better if you can afford one. There are a plethora of terminal programs available for the Amiga, many of the public domain / shareware versions being equal to or better than their commercial counterparts. Almost all support the Hayes command set. >Dan >p.s. sorry I'm so ignorant about this stuff. We all gotta start somewhere. The only ignorant question is the one that doesn't get asked. >thanks >---------- You're welcome. Hope this has been helpful. davem
