The // version was amazing. I didn't think they were going to do a //gs version though. - How about Space Rogue GS? I've seen the Mac version, but didn't even know there was one for the //, much less //gs-specific. I'm afraid to call PP in case they don't know the difference between a "// or //gs" version and a "//gs only" version. Hard to tell from the catalog itself. Other points of interest: - Mac games are starting to creep into the catalog. My impression was that they had a whole different catalog of Mac stuff that they published elsewhere. Weird. - The elusive Dragon Wars GS is under Interplay, not EA (for $29). - There's a letter on page 17 from a guy who trimmed his Platinum Paint disk down to create a bootable disk. He removed the Finder from the PP system disk, and moved the PP program onto it (presumably on a copy...). However, he has a small problem: "Now the program runs fine and loads faster than the Finder, but when I click on 'Quit', it apparently tried to quit to the Finder. When the program can't find the Finder, it returns to the beginning (first, or palette) screen. I have to use another disk to turn off my system or reset the computer." It's what we've always feared. Macintosh users on an Apple II. Aiiiiiiiiieeeee!! :-) (the part that was MOST interesting to me was that the guy answering the question neglected to mention that Open Apple-Control-Reset would "reset the computer"... instead he recommended using ProSel.) Hey guys, what's a decent //gs magazine that Programs Plus advertises in? My inCider subscription runs out in October... -- fadden@cory.berkeley.edu (Andy McFadden) ..!ucbvax!cory!fadden fadden@hermes.berkeley.edu (when cory throws up)
