I was wondering if anyone could answer my questions about my hard drive/controller card setup. I have an Epson Equity II, XT compatible *with* cmos setup. I'm running an ST 251-1 and a Western Digital controller card that came in the computer (without documentation of course). The drive will only format to 20 Megs and I can't figure out why. Also, I want to cahnge the interleave, but I can't figure out how. Does the WD card need to be physically jumpered to support a 40 meg drive? I don't know what the model of the card is, but it is long (but obviously an 8 bit card). When I low level format the drive, I get the option listed, but I can't change them. The prompt is: (AH) Physical drive 0 (AL) Interleave 3 Press y to format drive with interleave 03? Pressing anything other than y aborts the format. How can I change the interleave to six? Also, it's only formatting through cylinder 619 (heads 0-3 I believe). How can I get it to use the rest of the disk space? Is there an automated program that might be better at this than the built in controller card program? Well, I think I've included all the technical information that I have. Please Email me your responses and I will post a summary if it's something that should be addressed. At any rate, thanks again for all your help. corywest@rice.edu P.S. At least I've gotten it this far...
