It's documented perfectly well in the motherboard manual, if not in the 302 manual. When the jumper is not in the unix position, the ROM BIOS is mapped both in the bottom 1MB and at the top of the 16MB address space. When it is in the unix position, the BIOS is only mapped in the bottom 1MB. The non-unix position might be useful to some versions of OS/2, maybe, but in most cases it makes no difference. I acually loaded up my 302 with 16MB of RAM but I wasn't able to use the very top chunk of memory, no matter which position the jumper was in.
