But after disconnecting I realized that the connectors were different for each drive, so I went to connect them back (the original way). Upon booting I now get the configuration error message: Diskette Drive 1 seek failure. BTW the configuration is set correctly (A: is set up as the 5.25 and B: as the 3.5). I have checked and rechecked the connections and I have no doubt that they are securely in place. What could have gone wrong here? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, as I don't want to have to fork out bucks to get a "professional" to fix it. For what it is worth the machine is a 386sx, both HD drives, and the cable is a 34 pinned daisy-chained cable.
