6.0 was either April or May, 1988.  6.0.2 (read that "the first stable version") was, oh, June or July 1988.  Call it three years between 6 and 7.  (And don't forget the late 1988/early 1989 promise of "System upgrades every 6 months."  Turned out they meant "updates."  Ah, well.
