Gersh (gersh@aplpy.jhuapl.edu) came through with the solution for Systems prior to 7.0. Using Resedit, open the Finder's LAYO (resource 128) and set the option "Titlebar Click" to 1. (You must be using a relatively recent version of Resedit, incidentally. Version 1.0.4, which I first tried, doesn't see this option.) A double click in the titlebar of a window in the Finder will now bring up the window's parent. As always use Resedit with caution, working only on a *copy* of your working Finder. I also discovered that you can make this same modification without Resedit if you use Layout. (I have version 1.8.) For those who don't know, Layout is a free program available at sumex (try the /info-mac/utilities directory). In addition to being able to modify the titlebar click, it can also change a few other Finder parameters, including the pattern and spacing of icons in windows. --Elliot Wilen elliot@ocf.berkeley.edu !ucbvax!ocf!elliot elliot%ocf@ucbjade
