Can anyone Well you don't say what kind of Mac you have, but as long as it's greater than a plus you can use "StartUp Disk" to select the boot device. There is also nothing wrong with having a system folder on each drive, just don't have more than one system folder on any given drive. I have 6.0.5 with Desktop Manager on my internal drive, and 7.0 on my external. I freely switch between the two without a hitch. (i.e. no rebuilding of the desktop etc.).
