Lauderdale, FL Lines: 37 As some may remember, a few weeks ago I posted a message complaining about uSoft Tech Supports lack of capabilities/understanding with respect to PostScript. Mr. Ken Sykes replied claiming knowledge of & responsibility to fix the problem. While Mr. Sykes works on the REAL fix, we came up with the following TEMPORARY (not an acceptable process for an end user ... ok for a "hacker" like myself) workaround: 1) import the EPS into PowerPoint 2) copy from powerpoint ==> clipboard ==> w4w 3) use to your heart's content The nice things about this are that (1) it works & (2) the file still contains PS code that will allow for jaggie-less resizing ... on the down-side, all documents are (for our particular case) 22.5k larger than they have to be as the entire logo is now an integral part of every document (vs being merged @ print time). Questions I have are as follows: 1) Why does this work? (print to file available for whoever wants to investigate) ... did the clipboard transfer all the EPS as-is, or did it modify it??? 2) Was anyone aware of this method for "cleaning" up EPS (especially interested if Mr. Sykes was aware of it) ... and will it work when done in other programs? - I tried to do this with w4w (import into w4w; copy to clipboard & paste into new document) and with Illustrator ... both failed 3) Is there any way to save what is in the clipboard as an EPS file so that I would not have to save 22.5k worth of clipboard logo with each file. leoh@hdw.csd.harris.com Leo Hinds (305)973-5229 Gfx ... gfx ... :-) whfg orpnhfr V "ebg"grq zl fvtangher svyr lbh guvax V nz n creireg ?!!!!!!? ... znlor arkg gvzr
