Subject: Do we need a list of available X tools, applications and games?

As has been recently pointed out, following what freely copyable X 
tools, applications and games are available can be a real pain! 
Currently we have an X Bibliography and an X Frequently Asked Questions 
list.  I think we could also do with a list of freely available 
software, either via ftp or comp.sources.x etc.

I am very willing to compile such a list (I could certainly do with 
one!) and make it available on a similar monthly basis and via ftp.
I would like to ignore commerical products and let someone else compile 
a list for them.

In order to make such a list managable only a brief description should 
be given, along with availability details, version numbers and dates 
(and maybe a contact name or mailing list). A lot of information can be 
gained by monitoring comp.windows.x, comp.sources.x, comp.archives and 
pulling sources from export and other ftp sites.  However, for this list 
to remain up to date requires help from authors!  I've included a sample
questionnaire at the end of this message and I'm open to suggestions.
