I have mine on custom stands (although not the one spica recommends). I'm no audiophile, and i don't get to listen to alot of fancy equipment, but I'm very happy with these speakers. For what it worth, my very unprofessional and probably technically confused evaluation: Great spatial imaging/projection, neutral sound, excellent midtones at medium voloume, good clean highs..but the bass is missing 'punch' and seems strained in orchestral bursts. I listen mostly to classical music, h/k 6200, technics cdp, rotel 850 (?) tt, aiwa (ugh!) td. standard cables and so forth. Overall, tyro opinion: a damn good buy! :) Arno Bosse Reed College abosse@reed.edu
