The one thing that was missing was getting into contact with researchers working on philosophical aspects of Virtual Reality. Since this seems to be a (technically) virulent field in the US, I expected - in every University Bookstore - lots of publications. But I did not find any. Nor did I find journals dealing with the aestehtics of modern media. There must be authors like Baudrillard, Virillo, Flusser in the US as well as people interested in talking about Virtual Reality.
