For my application the decompression speed and a compression ratio of at least 4:1 on average are the most impostant points. In particular, I do not care if the compression of the image requires time. Also, can anyone tell me where I can find papers and examples of JPEG [and MPEG] algorithms? Thanks in advance to anybody that can provide me such information, and apologies to the net if this is a FAQ. Stefano Lassini slassini@convex.cl.msu.edu P.O.Box 6352 E.
