Can someone please give me any information on what if any certification 
programs and/or testing is performed to verify that Ethernet equipment
is compliant with IEEE standards?

I am particularly interested in certification for 802.3 FOIRL equipment 
and how well the certification program works in establishing vendor
interoperability.  Is there any paper work or labeling on products
that I should look for to show compliance?
