Since then, I have been interested in purchasing one for my XT. But before I do so, I would like to receive more info about MINIX which the advertisement did not adequately provide. I have listed my questions regarding MINIX in hope that someone familiar about the OS would reply: o How much disk space and memory is required? o Can I still run DOS and my DOS programs? And if so, how do I 'switch' between operating systems? o The MINIX disks are on hi-density floppies. My drives only read low-density (360K). Can it be done? o Is there a noticeable slow-down when multitasking is performed on an XT? Any additional comments and/or suggestions are welcomed. Also, if I do get MINIX for my PC, I would rather not purchase it thru mail and wait 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. Does anyone know of a retailer in the Los Angeles area where I can just go in and come out with one? Thanks, -cwong@boole.seas.ucla.edu
