I used Coretest to determine the optimum interleave. 1:1 works best in my situation, resulting in a roughly 500 K/sec transfer rate. Which is perfectly adequate given the MFM and RLL controllers I'm used to. Your mileage may vary, but several other people have reported transfer rates in this vicinity.
