I have my hosts configured as suggested in "On the Care and Feeding of Xntpd"-- three hosts polling 6 "off-campus" stratum 1 servers and 8 hosts (stratum 3) polling the previously mentioned three hosts. My ntp.conf files are simple--they just have the peers defined and the driftfile defined for each host. Now, my question: I get the following message on the console of some hosts (not at the same time or on the same host). > xntpd[101]: Previous time adjustment didn't complete What causes this? What can be done? It doesn't seem to be any cause for alarm as it just happens once in a while and at times with more frequency than others. --- Cornell Kinderknecht cornell@csl.dl.nec.com uunet!necbsd!cornell
