I'd like something to replace DiskMaster. I'm running it under 2.0, but I have a 2000. Dunno how it does on the 3000. It has some good features -- I love how you can just double-click on a file and have it display it (it figures out on the fly whether it's text or IFF, if it doesn't seem to be neither, it punts and calls it binary), but also some bad features. There doesn't seem to be a "PARENT" gadget, for one thing... it sometimes becomes difficult to navigate. It also closes its window and re-opens and redraws it every time the window is selected (i.e, you select another window, diddle, re-select SID's window, and it goes PLOOP). Ironically, version 1.0 of DiskMaster, circa 1987, works perfectly under 2.0. It's only the later versions that die. This is similar to TxEd... the original TxEd works fine, it's only TxEd+ that dies. It seems to me that some "improvements" aren't improvements at all, eh? -- Eric Lee Green (318) 984-1820 P.O.
