The System Programmer's Guide talks about ROM BIOS routines (INT 10H) that mess with the video attributes. The parameters I apparently need to use are AH=0 and AL=0. The "AL=0" tells the video controller to use 40 x 25 monochrome text mode. This seems to be what I need to use, but I have no idea what to do with these parameters. Do I have to write some kind of assembly language program (I've never done that!), or is there a way I can get into this mode from DOS? Also, is there a way I could go into this mode auto- matically (like during the startup of a communications package) and then resume the original mode later? Any help would be highly appreciated. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scott D.
