There was recently a power failure (his system was on), and after that time The computer doesn't recognize that there is a hard drive connected. When you start up the hard drive light comes on and then wants to boot of drive a:. As far as I'm concerned the CMOS got screwed during the power failure! However The system comes up with the error "161- run setup in diagnostics options not set " ERROR. He never got the Diagnostics disks with his system so I can't run Setup, And Epson never bothered to put a built in hardware CMOS setup which most companies do nowadays Which can be invoked from a simple keystroke! EPSON is asking $60 for a simple setup program which should have been included with the system. If anyone HAS THIS DIAGNOSTICS DISK FOR THE EPSON computers Would you please let me know! Maybe Someone can shed some light on this problem. No, booting off floppy doesn't solve the problem. when I boot off floppy and then try to switch to c: I get the Invalid drive specification error. ------------------------------------------------------------ gerardis@cs.mcgill.ca | The sun is the same in a relative way, | but you're older | And shorter of breath and one day | closer to DEATH. -Floyd
