As suggested by Ernie Potenziani (potenziani@etdl38.army.mil) and Bob Canfield (canfieldra@vtcc1.bitnet), I had the battery connections to the analog board resoldered. (Coincidentally, it also needed resoldering for that standard picture-tube-on-the-blink problem). After a couple weeks of testing, it seems to have worked. (Of course, with all the System 7 problems I'm having, I could miss a little thing like that.) Thanks to all who responded.
